Elster Gas is pleased to announce the introduction of their RABO rotary meter into the North American market.
Elster American Meter Company LLC will market the new product bearing the Elster Instromet badge, which positions it as a global product for universal application. The RABO meter will come in four meter sizes ranging from 3,500 ACFH to 14,000 ACFH maximum capacities with a pressure rating of 290 PSIG, and boasts superior performance. Finished inventory will be carried in Nebraska City, NE, starting August 15, 2014, to better serve customer demand.
Elster American Meter’s current RPM rotary meter product line will remain in production through 2015 to facilitate the customer approval process and help ensure a smooth transition to the RABO product line.

The RABO meter utilizes the rotary-type positive displacement principle of operation which makes volumetric measurements by
displacing finite volumes of gas. The positive displacement occurs within a cavity formed between the meter’s internal housing and its
rotating impellers. The counter-rotating “figure-8” impellers turn as a result of pressure drop across the meter’s inlet and outlet created
as downstream gas is consumed. The rotating impellers separate the flowing gas into small, finite, volumes and are counted using a
mechanical index.

Elster RABO flow meters come equipped with a drive magnet as standard equipment for easy adaptability of a low frequency pulse generator. The pulse generators are attachable to the exterior of the index cover, and can be retrofitted or changed without opening the index. They also have sealing capability to visually detect tampering.
IN-S11 and IN-S12 come with mating connector, no cable included.

Conductive Level Controller product line, which enables customers to have easy-to-use, cost effective level
control with a broad range of conductive liquids. Each of the new controllers provide precise filling or
emptying control of liquid levels between two different points. Two basic styles are available, in order to meet
a diverse range of application requirements. All of the models provide one SPDT relay output, which is rated
up to 8A, 250VAC.
The powerful but slim CLD2EB1BU24 provides three sensitivity ranges plus a fine tune adjustment from 250Ω to 500kΩ, enabling for control with a wide variety of liquids, such as salt water, sewage and chemicals. DIN rail mounting and universal 24-240VAC/DC supply voltage simplifies installation, and the 17.5mm housing width minimizes panel space requirements.
For more cost sensitive applications, the economically priced CLP2EB1Bxxx retains the reliability and many features of the CLD2EB1BU24, at a lower price. This model provides a single mid-range sensitivity adjustment from 5kΩ to 150kΩ, and supports many common applications. Mounted via an 11-pin DIN-rail mountable socket, four different models are available for operating voltages of 24VDC, 24VAC, 115VAC or 230VAC.

The Carlo Gavazzi UDM40 series is a hi-tech modular panel meter developed to meet advanced application needs. The Gavazzi UDM40 series Features a 4 digit display. The meter front is rated at IP67, NEMA12, NEMA 4X for indoor use only. Input Power outages are 90-260 AC/DC, 18-60 AC/DC and 10-28v DC.
Carlo Gavazzi offers a comprehensive range of digital panel meters, HMIs and digital displays (current meters, ammeters, voltmeters, frequency meters, temperature meters and temperature controllers, tachometers, and rate meters) for the OEM, Panel Builder, Instrumentation, and MRO customer. Covering most input types (current/voltage/temperature/resistance/RPM), Gavazzi digital panel meters are well suited for your display requirements.
The Gavazzi UDM40 series accepts most signal inputs (current, voltage, temperature, tach) and offers an analogue output as well as up to 4 digital outputs (relay). Since these are modular meters, outputs can be added at any time in the field. Remote monitoring via a PLC or PC is possible by inserting an RS485 communication module into the meter. In this way many meters can be monitored without adding a lot of expensive analogue cards to your PLC.
The Carlo Gavazzi UDM40 meter also features a 3-color display allowing at a glance indication of relative operating condition (OK - Green, Caution - Yellow, or Alarm - Red). Furthermore, the UDM40 is also able to handle and correctly display non-linear signals. Temperature inputs are Thermocouple types J,K,S,T and E and RTD resistance detectors. Relay outputs are up to 8 amps up to 240 volts single phase. The analog outputs are 0-20mA or 0-10v DC.
The UDM40 Agency approvals are CE, cCSA, UL, e cRU.

Ohms Law and Wattages for Electric Heaters and Elements
Flow Factor and Ohms Law
Electric Heaters and heating elements become hot due to a voltage being pushed through a wire. The resistance in the wire measured in Ohms creates the heat. The more resistance the hotter the wire gets. The more voltage pushed through the wire, the hotter the wire gets. Simply the smaller the wire (or the longer the wire run) the more resistance it gives to the voltage passing through.
So as voltage increases the wattage will increase four fold. As the voltage decreases the wattage will decrease by a factor of 4 as well. The below table shows the percentage of drop or gain with different applied voltages to a heating element.

This is all based on Ohm's Law or I=E/R
Simple Ohms Law equations are:
Amps = WATTS / VOLTS
Watts = VOLTS x AMPS
Ohms = VOLTS / AMPS
Volts = AMPS x OHMS
A Conductor Wire's resistance is constant based on wire size and length.
A heater's watt rating is based on the wire used in the heating element and the voltage applied.
To get a 15 kilowatt rated heater run at 480 volts; a wire with a resistance of 15.4 Ohms is used.
(If there are three elements in the heater, then each is rated at 5 kw and the resistance of the wire would be 46.)
Knowing amps is very important for large immersion heater loads to size contractors, SCR's, Fusing and Thermostats.
