Watlow FIREBAR heating elements provide added heating performance over standard round tubular heating elements—especially for immersion applications in petroleum-based liquids requiring high kilowatts.
The FIREBAR's unique flat surface geometry packs more power in shorter elements and assemblies, along with a host of other performance improvements. These include:

-Minimizing coking and fluid degrading

-Enhancing the flow of fluid past the element's surface to carry heat from the sheath

-Improving heat transfer with a significantly larger boundary layer allowing much more liquid     to flow up and across the sheath's surface

Watlow FIREBAR elements are available in single- and double-ended constructions with one inch or 5⁄8 inch heights. These two configuration variables make it possible to use FIREBAR elements instead of round tubular elements in virtually all applications.

70 percent greater surface area per linear inch compared to a 0.430 in. (11 mm) diameter round tubular heater

Compacted MgO insulation maximizes thermal conductivity and dielectric strength

Precision wound nickel-chromium resistance wires

0.040 in. (1 mm) thick MgO walls transfer heat more efficiently

Capacitance Level Control Definitions

ROBERTSHAW CAPACITANCE LEVEL

For a quote or part number ID, please click HERE.

Capacitance Level Definitions

High Level Fail Safe (HLFS):
Relay de-Energizes on High Alarm condition. Thus the alarm condition with power failure.  Example: To Keep tank from overfilling with power failure.

Low Level Fail Safe (LLFS):
Relay de_Energizes on Low Alarm Condition. Thus alarm condition with power failure. Example: To Keep pump from running dry and burning up with a ower failure.

Time Delay:
Used for Splashing or wavy processes to prevent cycling on and off.

Response Time:
How fast the unit goes to alarm condition after set point is reached.

C, NO, NC Contacts:
Contacts are normally shown in the non-energized alarm condition – no power, shelf condition.  Relay energizes in non-alarm condition.

POINT LEVEL

ZERO:
This is the SET POINT. Where the desired actuation is to occur.

DIFFERENTIAL:
This is the distance, in Pico-Farads, inches or feet from ZERO to where the RESET is to occur. Sometimes called Deadband or Pump On – Pump Off.

CONTINUOUS LEVEL

ZERO:
The 0% Level point on the sensing probe.

100%:
The full level point on the sensing probe.

SPAN:
The distance in Pico-Farads, from the Zero Level point to the FULL Level Point (100%).

TERMINAL CAPACITANCE:
The Minimum amount of Capacitance present when no product is present in the vessel.
This is:
The Capacitance of the Probe Gland (and sheath and colling extension, if used) PLUS
The Capacitance generated between the probe and the vessel with air as the dielectric. In other words, the absolute minimum value of capacitance generated in that particular probe/vessel installation.

TERMINAL / SPAN RATIO:
The Terminal Capacitance divided by the span capacitance. This ratio must not be exceeded where specified on product specification sheets (all instruments do not have this restriction).

Terminal Adjustment/Zero Adjustment Range/Maximum Zero Suppression:
This is the maximum “Zero Suppression” of the capacitance value at the zero point level in the vessel.  This value cannot be exceeded.

Capacitance Change:
The amount of capacitance difference between ZERO and 100% points in the continuous level measuring instruments; the amount of capacitance difference between product and no product in point level measuring instruments without differential; or the amount of capacitance difference between ZERO and Differential points in Point Level measuring instruments with differential adjustment.

TOTAL CAPACITANCE:
This is the total capacitance value (not capacitance change) with tank of vessel at the 100% level (includes terminal capacitance). This value must not exceed the maximum span of the instrument.

Penberthy Magnetic Level Gages

Penberthy's MULTIVIEW™ Magnetic Liquid Level Gages can be built to serve practically any process industry situation. From the simplest operation to the most severe, corrosive environment, Penberthy can construct a system to best suit your company’s requirements. As pioneers in magnetic gage level indication and as creators of the unique concentric magnet design, Penberthy has the expertise to know what design, specifications and options best fit any given application. Contact a Penberthy representative to discuss specific duty requirements in your operation.

MULTIVIEW™ Magnetic Liquid Level Gages utilize a communicating chamber constructed of 2-1/2" pipe which is connected to the process tank with either side or end connections. A float with a self-enclosed magnet is custom sized and weighted to float at the surface of the process liquid to be monitored. The float is then installed in the communicating chamber.

The industry-unique concentric magnet in MULTIVIEW™ gages provides a more consistent magnetic field than conventional magnet designs.

Follower Style Indicator

In MG Follower-Type models, the unit consists of a hermetically-sealed tube in a protective view housing. Within this tube is a gold anodized aluminum follower which will mirror level changes in the process tank. This entire assembly is attached to the communicating chamber where the follower is magnetically coupled with the float. Because the follower and float are magnetically linked, liquid level changes in the process tank will cause both float and follower to rise and fall in unison. The result is a precise indication of the liquid level within the vessel.

Flag Style Indicator

MG Flag-Type monitors provide a more secure link between the indicator and float. The view housing is sealed and consists of a single column assembly of aluminum flags within an extruded aluminum channel. These flags are anodized with black on one side and gold on the other. Each flag houses a small magnet and is assembled on a single, individual axle. As the float in the communicating chamber rises and falls, the magnetic interaction between float and flag magnets cause the flags to rotate 180°. These changes are shown through contrasting colors – black above and gold below the liquid level.

To insure trouble-free operation, Penberthy's flags are magnetically interlocked and utilize mechanical stops. This prevents over-rotation. Penberthy's redundant axle system prevents binding, with each flag allowed to rotate on the axle and each axle free to rotate in the channel. This method of indication is always accurate, regardless of the speed of process level change or vibration.

Switches can be added to the level gage for point level control.

MGS Switches provide non-intrusive point-level control and contain no mercury. They allow you to be environmentally safe without sacrificing accuracy.
